Record Rama bidder turns out to be a fraud:
The $3 million winning bid for the Record Rama collection on eBay was a fraud, according to J. Paul Henderson, agent for the sale.
Mr. Henderson said he got a call from an eBay executive last night explaining that the “jopsoup” bid was not legitimate and the account has been suspended.
The Irish man with that screen name says he didn’t even know about the bid until after the fact.
“Jopsoup” told the eBay executive that he was a victim of identity theft.
“He claims he went to an Internet cafe and got the e-mail with the invoice from us and wondered ‘what the hell is this?’ ” Mr. Henderson said.
Mr. Henderson says he and owner Paul Mawhinney plan to re-list the collection and run the auction in a more “semi-private” fashion with screened bidders.

The sale of the famed Record Rama collection today was "bittersweet" for Paul Mawhinney, who is parting with what he calls "The World's Largest Music Collection.''
The high bidder on eBay came in at $3,002,150 for a collection Mr. Mawhinney estimated as being worth $50 million.
"It was a little bittersweet," said Mr. Mawhinney's agent, J. Paul Henderson. "We didn't get as much as we wanted."
Mr. Mawhinney, the 68-year-old owner of the Ross-based Record Rama, had been trying to sell the collection for years.
Faced with health problems, particularly his failing vision, Mr. Mawhinney decided to retire, close the store and put the collection on eBay this month for a minimum of $3 million. That averages about a dollar apiece for the vault of approximately 3 million LPs, 45s, CDs, cassettes and 8-tracks, plus his own patented vinyl-cleaning system and ownership of six publishing companies and eight independent labels. It is believed to be the second biggest sale in the history of eBay, after the sale of a $4.9 million private jet.
Not much is known yet about "jopsoup," the screen name of the Irish-based buyer, other than that he has 33 positive ratings and one negative in his eBay history.
Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Henderson was unsure whether the bid was legitimate, but said, "We have a plan B. We've heard from someone legitimate who wants to buy it."

Praia de Pepe
IF you ever go to Rio, of course go check Ipanema's beach around Posto 9 but get out of the city and go towards Barra de Tijuca. My fav. beach is after Barra may be 30 to 40 minutes outside Rio. it's called Praina. Beautiful surfers spot.
Anyway this time we had bad weather so the few days i went to the beach i ended up at Praia de Pepe.

You Can Look..But Do Not Touch
I was too lazy to take pics this time, and Benjamin just got a new camera so he was shooting left and right. The funniest picture of the trip was taken at Praia de Pepe right outside Rio . Those two girls decide to sit in front of us. And here is the view . No need for captions, they are tattooed on their backs. Take a look but do not....
