London Holidays: No Subway but a Whole Foods around the corner

After a good 12 hours stuck in Washington Dulles because of my flight getting cancelled (THANK YOU UNITED AIRLINES), i arrived in London at 11pm on December 24th for my family reunion. I guess just in time for the opening of a bottle of Champagne and the gifts getting unwrapped.
My mother's friends let us stay in their apartment in Kensington for the week. Bruno who lives here until the Spring is the director of photography on the new Harry Potter movie shooting outside London. Pretty cool uh!?
Today the 25th, we went out in the London rain hoping to get some tourist action but no, no no. No subway or bus service. Actually just like last night from the airport. I had to take a cheap $120 ride in a black cab to the apartment. Anyway so today not much to do except going around the hood, walking around and catching up on DVD's. Since Bruno was nominated for an Oscar for his work on Amelie Poulain, he gets all the dvd screeners, meaning he has all the good stuff still showing in the theaters and nominated for the golden globes.
Kensington's Palace gate - The street where we're staying.
Across the Street from our apartment: HYDE PARK
There is a Whole Foods in Kensington!
