Pillow Fight Union Sq NYC

I don't think i'll go but it looks and sounds like fun ;-)

A global phenomena comes to Union Square. Grab your fluffiest down pillow and prepare to beat the stuffing out of strangers--literally!

The pillow fight is happening again this year :D

A massive pillow fight in New York City! Feathers fly and teddies soar as we gather for a massive urban pillow fight! Swing and whack as you evade pillow-wielding assailants. Bring a pillow to Union Square and wait for the signal. Pillow fight!

Costumes and funky pillows encouraged.

Based on popular opinion, it has been moved to the first Saturday of Spring for maximum comfort :)

Stay tuned for more info, including cleanup volunteering!

There will also be pillow fights happening on this date in London, Paris, Shanghai, Vancouver and many more!

Cost: FREE!

A Different Way To Produce An Album

Sunshine Jones formerly of Dubtribe, sent an email last week asking his fans to help produce his next album.
Interesting new approach for independent recording artists.
check it out:
if you send Sunshine a $10 donation, he'll send you a link to download the lp.

If you send him $10,000 you will get: "Everything I've mentioned above, plus a very special afternoon with me. Featuring a tour of my studio, a cup of my famous coffee, a first hand look at the progress of the project, and then you get to come and sing on my album.
Don't worry if you can't sing - we can always have you hum and clap along."

For a full rundown on his new project and how you can help co-produce his album go to:

Record Rama bidder turns out to be a fraud:

The $3 million winning bid for the Record Rama collection on eBay was a fraud, according to J. Paul Henderson, agent for the sale.

Mr. Henderson said he got a call from an eBay executive last night explaining that the “jopsoup” bid was not legitimate and the account has been suspended.

The Irish man with that screen name says he didn’t even know about the bid until after the fact.

“Jopsoup” told the eBay executive that he was a victim of identity theft.

“He claims he went to an Internet cafe and got the e-mail with the invoice from us and wondered ‘what the hell is this?’ ” Mr. Henderson said.

Mr. Henderson says he and owner Paul Mawhinney plan to re-list the collection and run the auction in a more “semi-private” fashion with screened bidders.

Record Rama collection fetches millions
Thursday, February 21, 2008

The sale of the famed Record Rama collection today was "bittersweet" for Paul Mawhinney, who is parting with what he calls "The World's Largest Music Collection.''

The high bidder on eBay came in at $3,002,150 for a collection Mr. Mawhinney estimated as being worth $50 million.

"It was a little bittersweet," said Mr. Mawhinney's agent, J. Paul Henderson. "We didn't get as much as we wanted."

Mr. Mawhinney, the 68-year-old owner of the Ross-based Record Rama, had been trying to sell the collection for years.

Faced with health problems, particularly his failing vision, Mr. Mawhinney decided to retire, close the store and put the collection on eBay this month for a minimum of $3 million. That averages about a dollar apiece for the vault of approximately 3 million LPs, 45s, CDs, cassettes and 8-tracks, plus his own patented vinyl-cleaning system and ownership of six publishing companies and eight independent labels. It is believed to be the second biggest sale in the history of eBay, after the sale of a $4.9 million private jet.

Not much is known yet about "jopsoup," the screen name of the Irish-based buyer, other than that he has 33 positive ratings and one negative in his eBay history.

Yesterday afternoon, Mr. Henderson was unsure whether the bid was legitimate, but said, "We have a plan B. We've heard from someone legitimate who wants to buy it."
